Glenfort Timber Engineering took on the project of White rocks pedestrian bridge as a full design manufacture and installation project.
Our in house design team set about identifying the needs for this walkway, coming up with a selection of proposed designs and materials. These where then presented to the lead builders Lagan Construction and the project Architect.
When a finalised design and material list had been selected our engineer got to work on the structural side of things. The bridge is constructed of three main Oak-Glulam arched girders at a 12m span, creating a strong base as well as a beautiful arch which was visible from the Whiter rocks beach itself. The bridge posts, hand rail and decking where all manufactured in solid oak beams finished with stainless steel tie bars and rope.
